At the police headquarters in Dohuk, these 24 officers are in training as a riot unit.
Their main duties: to execute arrest warrants issued against women, escort female suspects to the courts, and to confront protests and riots carried out by women.
The unit will also be deployed in women prisons in the city.
Gulnaz Musa has been working for the police for the past 12 years.

The unit was formed in April 2019, just after major protests in the region in March 2019 when government employees demanding salary payments that were delayed.
