Here is the original, uncut footage of the Reid's fire as filmed by the Channel 7 cameraman back on August 17, 1985.
A fire fighter who was a part of the crew that fought the blaze was given a tape with this uncut footage on it from the cameraman that shot it. It was used as an educational tool for others in the firefighting industry. 30 years later the same fire fighter was able to pass this footage on to me.
This in the entire roll that the cameraman shot that night back in 85. It goes for an hour.
Disclaimer: This footage is the property of Channel 7 and 7 News. I had searched YouTube to see if this existed online but it does not until now. I thank the channel and the cameraman for capturing such amazing footage and I thank the Ipswich firefighter for keeping such a piece of history, because it was the only copy still around.
