Fix Your Car's Starter With A Hammer

My Gallardo wouldn't start - the starter was spinning but not engaging with the motor. I used a hammer and lightly tapped the solenoid and on the starter motor. It engaged with the motor and started my car afterwards. This allowed me to move my car to a safe area to assess whether the starter needed replacing and to replace it if so. This isn't a permanent fix in most cases, just a chance to move the car if needed!
