Harounieh tomb or dome dates back to the 8th century AH and is the oldest building left from the city of Tos, and is located in Mashhad city, central part, Tos district. Harounieh was among the works registered by Iran's cultural heritage organization.
This historical place is located about 600 meters from the tomb of Hakim Abolqasem Ferdowsi and it is exclusively a monastery or a tomb that was founded in the 8th century of Hijri on the old buildings of Tabran city. Next to this building, a black stone can be seen as a memorial to Imam Muhammad Ghazali, a mystic of the 5th and 6th centuries of Hijri, which some consider to be his burial place. As a result of the new excavations that have taken place, some have identified another place, at a short distance from the dome. Harun is known as Ghazali's burial place.
There is a difference of opinion in the purpose of constructing the building and its use; Some consider this place to be a madrassa or monastery as well as Ghazali's burial place, and others consider it a mosque that was built on top of the Sassanid fire temple after the Muslim invasion of Iran.

بقعه یا گنبد هارونیه مربوط به سدهٔ ۸ ه.ق و کهن‌ترین بنای به جا مانده از شهر توس است و در شهرستان مشهد، بخش مرکزی، دهستان طوس قرار دارد.هارونیه در زمره آثار ثبت‌شده توسط سازمان میراث فرهنگی ایران است.
این مکان تاریخی در حدود ۶۰۰ متری از آرامگاه حکیم ابوالقاسم فردوسی قرار گرفته و منحصراً خانقاه یا مقبره‌ای است که در سده هشتم هجری بر روی بناهای کهن شهر تابران بنیاد گردیده‌است. در کنار این بنا سنگ سیاهی به عنوان یادبود امام محمد غزالی از عرفای سده پنجم و ششم هجری دیده می‌شود که برخی آنرا محل دفن او می‌دانند.بر اثر حفاری‌های جدید که صورت گرفته، برخی محل دیگری را، در فاصله کمی با گنبد هارون، محل دفن غزالی می‌دانند.
در هدفِ احداث بنا و کاربری آن اختلاف نظر وجود دارد؛ برخی این مکان را مدرسه یا خانقاه و همچنین مدفن غزالی می‌دانند و برخی دیگر آن را مسجدی می‌دانند که بعد از هجوم مسلمانان به ایران بر روی آتشکده ساسانی ساخته شده‌است.
