So what is b roll? Even though the Peter Lindgren edit of these sequences looks so cool to where there are other videos out like “editor reacts to Peter Lindgren,” they can’t actually be b roll because they are telling the whole story. What is b roll definition you may wonder? B Roll is footage that supplements your primary story. So in order to know what is b roll footage, you first need to have A Roll footage from which you cut away to those shots to make them B Roll. To better understand what is b roll in filming and what is b roll video footage, I’ll answer what is b roll example with an actual film called Rounders.
