Hot Water Cornbread Recipe-
Big Bite Tip: This hotwater cornbread recipe is make directly on the stove

Ingredients
2 cups cornmeal
21/4 boiling water
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
2 tablespoon sugar
4 to 5 ice cubes
2 cups of cold water
1/2 cup of frying oil

Kitchen Needs
1 medium size bowl - For ice water coating
1 medium size bowl- For measured cornmeal
1/4 cup scoop or large tablespoon- For forming patties  
1 medium size skillet
1 medium size saucepan

Directions
1. In medium size bowl add water and ice cubes set aside
2. Bring hot water to rolling boil on high heat
3. Slowly add measured cornmeal to boiling hot water, lower heat to medium, stirring constantly to get all the lumps out of mixture.
4. Once well mixed add butter, sea salt, and sugar continue to stir till well mixed.
5. Cook cornmeal mixture for 3 to 5 minutes till mixture thickens and looks a rich yellow color.
Note: Sugar and salt can be adjusted to taste preference in this recipe. Taste mixture before forming hot water patties. Mixture is ready to start forming patties.
6. Put your hands in bowl of ice water completely immerse to get your hands cold, this will prevent your hands from burning from the hot cornmeal mixture. Next take 1 scoop of hot cornmeal mixture and place mixture in cold hands forming hot water patty into round or oval shape- Whatever your preference. Coat patty with ice water as you are forming patty. Patties should be about 3/4 inch thick. This will ensure you get a crispy fried patty.
7. Preheat oil in skillet over medium high heat for about 5 minutes. Important- Do not cook patties on high heat. They will burn if heat is to hot. Cook patties for 3 to 4 minutes on each side or until slightly golden.
8. Place fried hot water cornbreads on paper towelled plate to absorb excess oil.
Now you are ready to go down memory lane with every bite.
