In this video, I will show the Mirid bug affected sesame field. Mode of damage, yield losses and control measures will be discussed in detail.
Mirid bug is a sucking pest which attacks on Sesamum crop plants and sucks sap from flowers, twigs and leaves. Its damage symptoms can easily be diagnosed by visual inspection on leaves which show yellowish spots on it.
It disturbs the photosynthetic activity of leaves and ultimately weakens the plants. Flowers shedding occur as a result of plant weakness.
Mirid bug is a cause of Phyllody Disease in sesame field so,
On time control of the mirid bug pest is necessary to prevent yield losses.
Chlothinadin insecticide can be used to control the mirid bug.
