nen is the most pure form of curse energy.
long ago a hunter from the zodylc family had a nen that could make them travel to the jjk world because they didn't know how to control it and didn't know wh they were considered useless in the family and due to overwhelming bullying and stress the nen activated, they came over to the jjk world and found out about curses and curse energy that was the start of the gojo family. non one knew
about the hxh world until gojo was born and developed his ancestors s' nen and communicated with the current zoldyc family.
they decided he was strong enough to be apart of the family. he became particularly close with killua and by extension gon. they lost touch due to event that happened in jjk season-2.
