Learn how to turn the pop up blocker ON or OFF within your Google Chrome Browser. Learn how to block or allow a specific website from generating pop up windows within your Google Chrome browser.
Are you suffering from annoying pop up marketing ad windows opening up while you're surfing the internet? Or maybe you're struggling to open a web page and nothing is happening? If so then perhaps you should consider changing the pop up blocker settings within your Google Chrome Browser.
Pop up windows can be annoying when they are unwanted ads but sometimes they are essential when opening trusted web pages on the internet too. You need to decide whether in general you are going to block or allow websites from generating pop up windows. Which ever you choose you can always allow exceptions to the general rule by allowing or blocking specific website from generating pop ups with your Google Chrome browser too.
In this video i will show you how to enable or disable pop ups within your Google Chrome Browser settings. I will also show you how to block or allow individual websites from generating pop ups within your Google Chrome Browser so you can manage your pop up windows more effectively.
Please note that the Google Chrome Pop Up Blocker will get rid of most unwanted pop ups, however some pop ups are generated from malicious software like Adware, Spyware or Malware. In these cases you should use Anti-virus software to remove the malicious software from your computer.

Written Instructions:
1.) Open up your Google Chrome Browser.
2.) Click on the three black bars located at the top right corner of the screen.
3.) Click on 'Settings'.
4.) Roll to the bottom of the screen and click 'Show Advanced Settings'.
5.) Under the heading 'Privacy' click the 'Content Settings' button.
The Content Settings menu window will appear.
6.) Roll down through the settings until you get to the heading 'Pop Ups'.
- To allow pop ups click 'Allow all websites to show pop ups'.
- To block pop ups click 'Do not allow all websites to show pop ups'.
7.) You can also allow or block individual websites from generating pop ups by click on 'Manage Exceptions'. Add the websites you require and then use the drop down menu to allow or block pop ups. Once you are happy with your settings click 'Done'.
8.) Be sure to click 'Done' on the Content Setting menu to save all changes.
If you have a newer version of Google Chrome, the instructions may differ slightly from above, below are some updated instructions to help anyone who struggles:
2020 Versions:
1.) Click on the setting menu (3 black dots),
2.) Select the ‘Settings’ option from the drop down menu,
3.) Under the 'Privacy & Security' section click on 'Site Settings',
4.) Click on the ‘Pop Ups & Re-directs’ option,
5.) Click the switch to change to either ‘Allow’ Or ‘Blocked’.
2019 Versions:
1.) Click on the setting menu (3 black dots),
2.) Select the ‘Settings’ option from the drop down menu,
3.) Click the blue ‘Advanced’ link at the bottom middle of the screen,
4.) The page then extends, roll slightly down and click on ‘Site Settings’,
5.) Click on the ‘Pop Ups & Re-directs’ option,
6.) Click the switch to change to either ‘Allow’ Or ‘Blocked’.
2018 Versions:
1.) Click on the setting menu (3 black dots),
2.) Select the ‘Settings’ option from the drop down menu,
