Ruby gave birth to Aliyah. After 2 years, she then gave birth to the twins (AKA Carter and Asher) but unfortunately died due to an enormous amount of blood lost.
Izek needed to remarry because of political reasons. And most nobles recommended that Freya should be the one that Izek marries. Izek did everything to try and stop it but in the end, they still got married got married. (Its basically a forced marriage)
Izek was busy most of the time because he became the duke, so thats why he barely had time to spend time with his kids.
Freya on the other hand, "took care" of the kids (even tho she never cared about them and only wanted izek to think that she's changed). She manipulated them into thinking that she was their REAL mother. She kept on making fake stories about how much of a "kind" person she was in the past. And of course the kids believed all the fake stories Freya told them since they we're just kids at that time(until now they still believe them).
The twins never knew who ruby was (and thinks that Freya is their real mom). Aliyah (the oldest) also doesn't remember anything about Ruby since she was only 1-2 years old back then when ruby was still alive.
