As Macron thanked the Nexus Institute for hosting him, one protester shouted: 'I think we lost something; where is French democracy?' at the start of Macron's speech on European sovereignty at the Nexus Institute. Another chimed in: 'Why did you bypass [the] French parliament?' in reference to the controversial pensions bill his government recently passed.
