Failed to lock the file | VMware Error on Windows host | Computer Tips

This video covers a solution for one of the VMware errors that say, "Failed to lock the file". This error is encountered when we try to power on our virtual machine. VMware establishes locks on the files to prevent concurrent changes to critical virtual machine files and file systems. These locks may not be released when the virtual machine is powered off in certain circumstances. As such, the files cannot then be accessed while locked, and the virtual machine fails to power on.
