STORYLINE:
Hurricane Beryl left a trail of devastation across the southeastern Caribbean on Monday.

The Hurricane was the earliest storm of Category 4 strength to form in the Atlantic, fueled by record warm waters.

As the winds subsided in Barbados, residents surveyed the damage.

Streets were covered by debris scattered by the wind and the surging sea waves.

In St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the hurricane ripped off rooftops.

The storm snapped banana trees in half, with homes made of tin and plywood tilting precariously nearby.

A tropical storm warning was in effect for St. Lucia and Martinique.

A tropical storm watch was issued for Haiti’s entire southern coast, and from Punta Palenque in the Dominican Republic west to the border with Haiti. A hurricane watch was issued for Jamaica.
