Betty demonstrates how to make Steamed Snow Peas.  Snow peas are very tender, and are perfect for steaming.  By steaming your vegetables, you retain all their nutrients.

Steamed Snow Peas

snow peas, as desired (I used about 2 cups.)
butter, to taste (optional)
salt, to taste (optional)
ground black pepper, to taste (optional)

(Note:  I did not use butter, salt, or pepper, because snow peas are so flavorful that I prefer them plain.)

Wash snow peas and dry them with paper toweling.  Use a knife to remove the ends and any strings along the sides.  Place the snow peas in a steamer (a container with holes in the bottom to allow steam to permeate the peas).  Place the steamer on top of a pot that has water that does not touch the steamer when it boils.  Bring the water to a boil, and allow the steam to pass through the peas.  When the peas turn a bright green color, they are ready to remove to a nice serving plate.  I served my Steamed Snow Peas with Baked Coconut Shrimp with Jamaican Jerk Seasoning and Curried Rice. This makes a light, healthy, and delicious meal!  Enjoy!!!  --Betty  :)
