Floors are dirty, and refrigerator and freezer floors are no exception.

It’s important, however, to keep the refrigerator and freezer floors clean for preventing the growth or spread of foodborne illness-causing bacteria.

That’s why, today, we’re going to show you how to easily and effectively clean the refrigerator and freezer floors in your kitchen.

Before we begin, let’s go over the product and proper protective equipment you’ll need for this process.

For cleaning refrigerator and freezer floors, we like to recommend Victoria Bay’s Freezer Cleaner. This product is great because it doesn’t need to be diluted, doesn’t need to be rinsed after, and can be used on walls, floors, ceilings, and shelving.

While we’ll review the proper steps for using Freezer Cleaner, remember that the product you use may have a different set of instructions. Always refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for proper procedure.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Freezer Cleaner, as with many other industrial chemicals, can cause damage and irritation to the skin and eyes. Therefore, we recommend using splash goggles and chemical-resistant gloves, along with long sleeves and long pants.

If your refrigerator or freezer doesn’t have good ventilation, then it can also be a good idea to wear a respirator.

With that out of the way, let’s go over the steps for cleaning refrigerator and freezer floors.

The first step is always to put on the proper protective equipment.

For step two you’ll want to apply freezer cleaner to the floor using a pump-up sprayer or mop.

If you’re working in a freezer, make sure to remove any ice chunks before applying the freezer cleaner.

Step three is to let the cleaner dwell for a few minutes.

Next, step four, scrub the cleaner into the floor with a brush.

And, for the final step, use a wet vac equipped with a front-mounted squeegee to remove product and soil from the floor.

Then, you’re all done! No need to rinse or use water.
