DIY Smudge Proof Gel Eye Liner

This recipe DOES NOT USE
This recipe DOES NOT USE Vaseline (petroleum jelly), or oils.
You need two ingredients (and a few optional ingredients).
To make this gel liner (which has INCREDIBLE STAYING POWER) you will need the following:
- Gel Liner Base, 4 ounces from www.DIYCosmetics.com (can also purchase a base from www.TKBTrading.com)
- Black Iron Oxide, 6g bag from www.TKBTrading.com (can also purchase from www.CoastalScents.com)
- Optional ingredients; any color mica, mineral eyeshadow, pigments, and even some broken eyeshadows crushed up would work.
- Plastic or glass jars to store them in (I used the plastic 5g jars from www.DIYCosmetics.com, an empty gel liner jar from another company, and the empty pigment jars that I used up in this tutorial)
The 4 ounce (113g) tub of gel liner base was $32 USD . There is enough base there to make 22 x 5g pots, in any color you want! TWENTY TWO! At LESS THAN $2.00 EACH!
Example: if you went out to the drugstore to purchase L'Oreals 24 Hour Laquer Liner, it would be $9.99 for a 2.3g jar. So that's half the amount of product, for 400% more money. If you do the math, it's jaw dropping how much you'd save by making your own. And if you bought your gel liner, you would only have a handful of colors to choose from... Make it yourself, and you could have 22 different colors - ANY COLOR. If you are a makeup artist (especially one just starting out) you could save yourself a few hundred bucks. Plus it's FUN! Let me know what colors you guys would make!
The ingredients I mixed to create all five shades:
- Black Liner: gel base + Black Iron Oxide
- Brown Liner: gel base + Murasaki Violet + Yellow Oxide + Black Iron Oxide (just to darken it)
- Blue Liner: gel base + Glamour Doll Eyes shadow in Melancholy + Black Iron Oxide (to darken)
- Army Green Liner: gel base + Black Iron Oxide + Yellow Oxide + Chromium Oxide Green
- Deep Purple Liner: gel base + Murasaki Violet + Black Iron Oxide (to darken)
