Renewable Energy and Distributed Systems Integration at Sandia

Society’s challenges in meeting the demands of the future electric grid have never been more difficult or more critical. Distributed energy such as solar panels and small-scale wind turbines and cost effective storage enable power to be generated very close to where it is ultimately used.

With these changes and other technological advancements including smart automated systems, advanced innovation is needed to ensure the grid of tomorrow is safe, secure, reliable and sustainable, making it more resilient to disruptions.
