[4K] Admiring The Oldest Church In Malaysia, The Church of Saint Paul, Malacca

I visited the Church of Saint Paul in Malacca, the oldest church building in Malaysia and South-East Asia. It was built in 1521 by Duarte Coelho in gratitude to the Virgin Mary for saving his life during a storm in the South China Sea.

The Church of Saint Paul is located at the top of Saint Paul's hill, near the remains of the A Famosa fortress and the Stadthuys.

The Church of Saint Paul's Lighthouse, also known as Malacca Light, stands in front of the church. The British completed it as an additional beacon in 1849 for ships travelling along the Straits of Malacca.

The lighthouse was eventually deactivated, and the functionality diminished further as the Malaccan Harbour underwent land reclamation during the late 20th century.

The church and the lighthouse are a must-visit in Malacca!
