This Gentoo penguin pair is
This Gentoo penguin pair is starting their courtship late in the breeding season. As most of the other penguins in this colony have already laid their eggs, this couple is just getting started and are at the outskirts of the colony. It is presumed the female is the bird lying on the ground and scratching out a new nest as the male courts her and looks for more nest-building materials.
