Aviation video @ Laughlin Air Force Base (KDLF/DLF)! Filmed on 12/9/21, this features the visit of a C-17 Globemaster III of the 97th Air Mobility Wing, based out of Altus AFB. Also featured are the local T-38 flights of the 87th Red Bulls as well as a couple of T-6s ops.
The 97th Air Mobility Wing (97 AMW) is the host unit at Altus Air Force Base. It plans and executes McDonnell Douglas C-17 Globemaster III, Boeing KC-46, and Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker pilot and aircrew training, providing formal school initial and advanced specialty training programs for up to 3,000 students annually.
Laughlin AFB is the largest pilot training base in the US Air Force, and is home to the 47th Flying Training Wing of the Air Education and Training Command (AETC). The 47th FTW is one of five pilot training units in the AETC which conducts joint specialized undergraduate pilot training for the US Air Force, Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard and allied nation air forces utilizing the T-38C, T-6A and T-1A aircraft.
