1- Java History

Our story started in 1991. Java was developed at Sun Micro systems. A team of Sun Engineers named "Green Team."  developed Java Programming Language.
James Gosling is called as Father of Java.
James Gosling first named Java as "Greentalk", and the extension was .gt.
Then he changed the name to Oak after the tree outside his office.
But again Oak was renamed to Java due to Trademark issue by Oak Technologies. The Greenteam came up with a working demo, and the device was called as *(star) Seven.
*Seven was excellent, it was way back in 1992 and *seven has a touch screen similar to our today's smartphones.

and So the first version of Java was released in January 1996
Oracle acquired Sun Microsystems in 2010.
