The fight against HIV has not been without its challenges especially in developing countries. Patients have reported major side effects in some of the drugs widely used as first line therapy, forcing the world health organization to recommend that they be phased out. However, the newly recommended drugs though less toxic, are more costly locking out access to most of those in need.
