Как же я рада, что не выкинула сломанные зонты. Покажу, как их можно использовать повторно

It's a shame when your favorite umbrella breaks due to a gust of wind. Usually one umbrella is enough for me for one or two seasons. In autumn, the rain can be so strong that it is better to get wet than to hold an umbrella.
If a spoke is broken, there is no way to fix it. In such cases, my husband takes the frame for himself, and I get the dome. The bologna on the umbrellas is of good quality with bright patterns. So why not use it again. You can sew many useful things - handbags, aprons, raincoats, clothes for animals, backpacks and much more.
Today I will show you two interesting things.
1) Rain cape
All the fabric will go into it and not a piece will remain.
- First, I cut the bologna from the frame.
- I cut off 3 sections for the hood. I folded this piece in half along the middle section. From the bottom of the fold, I marked 24 cm and drew a straight line. From there upward I drew the silhouette of a hood. I stitched, trimmed the seams, there is no need to overcast them.
- I rolled up the rest of the umbrella, attached the hood to it and cut off the excess fabric. It turned out to be a semicircle. This detail is just enough to cover your back, shoulders and chest.
- Connected these two parts. Bologna sewed bandages from the remnants, stitched them at neck level, and at the same time folded the fabric in front.
- The cape folds easily, and the Velcro strap secures it.
This is what it looks like.
Cosmetic bag
- In the central part of the umbrella I marked a circle with a diameter of 44 cm. I cut out a small circle from the cover and stitched a hole in the center.
- I sewed the valve according to the diagram. I put felt inside for rigidity of the same size.
- I cut out strips 5.5 cm wide from another fabric, folded them in half and stitched them along the edge of the circle.
- At two opposite points this drawstring is interrupted for the cord.
- I cut out the same circle from the lining fabric, connected the two parts and stitched along the edge, leaving room for turning it inside out.
- I placed the flap in the middle of the circle and stitched it as in the photo.
- Inserted a button on the valve and on the round part.
- I put a cord in the drawstring.
- With a slight movement of the hand, the bag is pulled together and closed with a flap.
- It turned out to be a small cosmetic bag that can hold a lot of things.
From the remains of a black umbrella, I will sew a warm seat for a bicycle and arm sleeves for the handlebars so that my hands do not freeze.
All the best!
