The customary practice for displaying
The customary practice for displaying REE abundances is to normalize them to chondritic abundances and then to plot these normalized abundances in order of atomic number, Z. This helps remove the oddo-harkins effect, converting zig-zag pattern which is not easy to interpret to smooth curve which is easy to interpret.
