How I set up a rib pattern PLUS cylinder markings PLUS Juana's 1x1 rib selvedge

Oh my goodness, People of Earth -- I am a little chatty and scattered for this video, so bear with me. I guess if you want stoic and informational only, you can always go elsewhere! I started out thinking, "I'll show how to do Juana's 1x1 selvedge!" and ended up talking about how I mark my cylinder, and also how I set up my rib pattern across the top of the cylinder / foot.

Here's the short crib notes version, for using a SOFT WEIGHT like I use:
Take out every other cylinder needle for a 1x1 rib.
Run waste yarn until all needles are knitting properly. Stop just before 3o'clock mark and cut a long tail (6-8")
Starting at 3o'clock, run 1 row of ravel cord, leaving a long tail at beginning and end of row.
Load in project yarn, and leave a long starting tail.
- tighten any stitches at 3o'clock that needs it, and drop soft weight in with all tails tucked under nice and taut
Start first row of project yarn, stopping in front.
Install ribber (with ribber IN WORK), and start loading the ribber needles by grabbing the bar of yarn in between the cylinder needles. Work around loading ribber needles until first row and first ribbed row is knit.
Reset counter, and knit your sock! That is IT, it's the easiest selvedge ever :) The ribber stays IN WORK the entire time. For an added bonus, hit the cuff with some steam to set the edge and prevent any ruffling when the cuff is stretched out.
If you do NOT use a soft weight like me, then cut even LONGER tails, and pull the tails down between your set up bonnet and the cylinder, so it hands down below the machine. Tie a loose loop knot and hang a small weight off of that. The point is, you want your tails snug and taut, not loose and flopping around. I mentioned that I would link to another video with this technique, but it was NOT for Juana's selvedge, it was a ribber going in/out video which is totally different than what I'm doing here.
BONUS MACI PIC (Maci is a very sweet doggo we're dog sitting over the holidays. Everyone in teh house is super excited to have Maci visit us except maybe the cats LOL):
