Overseas sales of instant rice, kimbap sales rise

해외서 즉석밥•냉동김밥 인기 쌀 가공식품 수출 '사상 최대
With the popularity of Korean food on the rise, instant rice products have seen record sales overseas.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation on Monday, exports of processed rice foods last year came to over 217 million U.S. dollars, the highest recorded figure to date.
The amount was a 9-point-5 percent jump from the previous year.
Exports of processed rice products have increased every year since 2015, with the popularity of products like instant rice, frozen kimbap and tteokbokki.
By country, the U.S. accounted for more than half of the total at over 114 million dollars.
