We all know insulators are the type of materials that do not conduct electricity. But, certain types of insulators can be polarised. Such insulators are called dielectrics, and they are used in so many applications. For example, the use of dielectrics in the capacitors make them ideal for energy storage applications.

This video is about dielectric materials. We have explained what dielectric materials with all its related terms. You will get to know what an electric dipole is, what is polarization and the different types of polarisation. We have also explained the other properties of dielectric materials including permittivity, dielectric strength, reorientation time, relaxation frequency and the dielectric loss.
