Today, we’re covering Parasite Eve, a peculiar experiment by Square - mixing Resident Evil inspired survival horror with Square-traditional RPG elements, a 3D combat system that would strongly inform later titles like Chrono Cross and Vagrant Story, (for the time) jaw-dropping CGI cutscenes and a body-horror narrative rooted in microbiology where the mitochondria become the greatest threat of humanity.
