Hi!

This is The Transient Apple Salesgirl, my favorite tune by Yukke. It's one of the most interesting stories I've heard in a vocaloid piece, along with a kickass instrumental to boot. This tune is a masterpiece, and while it was quite the challenge to record, I feel like the end product was absolutely worth it.

Thanks to Ian for the amazing mix! This is one of his favorite pieces, so he took great pleasure in working with the piece.

Special thanks to David for his awesome lyrics, because this is without a doubt the wordiest thing he's written to date. c:

In a land far away well beyond our time
There was a kingdom that soared up in the sky
Blessed by the Gods so the land would always thrive, blessed with an immortal life.
Under an apple tree there a girl was born
Doomed to a life that was filled with hate and scorn
Cursed this girl would be shunned forever more
Death would soon knock on her door.

Deep in the woods by a lake shining blue a small house there was baking treats
Everyday making these sweets made of red fruit.
Feeling proud of the pies today I braced for the cold and had made my way
Into town where I’ll do all I can do
Finally, surely you’ll see, they’re all so tasty
The town square was filled to the brim with the noise of the people who came and went
Today is my day, la la lu la lucky!
Standing alone in the corner the girl had reached to the people that passed her by
“I made these myself, please come give them try.”
Sadly none of the pastries would sell
They all glared at the girl with cold eyes that damned to hell
But I’m no different than you all I wanted to do
Was just to share all the fruit

Just like everyday my voice falls short and fails to say
All the things I try to speak it’s like I’m not here at all
Behind every glance is just a painful ignorance
Because I am the girl from the stories destined one day to fall.
Stuck within a rotting world where only one girl would live with the curse of the red fruit

Still that night she baked her pies not ready to let one day mess her up
She walked into town ready to sell
The clock tower chiming away kept on its pace as the girl stood wait
Hungry but happy but suddenly a hand reached out
And pushed the small girl to the ground
And the pies were all scattered around
People stepped on her work without saying a word as they sneered in the face of the girl
Saddened the girl gathered up all that she found
When a boy had broke off from the crowd
And he took a small bite before turning and smiling so bright in the light
“They’re delicious, right?”

“As he spoke to me I felt my heart begin to beat
It was like for all my life I’d waited to see this day.”
And without a word he reached his hand right out to her’s
And such began the tale of the two who were cursed and ignored by fate.
Stuck within a rotting world where only these two would live and would die there side by side.

And all of the villagers pitied both the youth
Who were cursed to live throughout their days burdened by the fruit
They had lost their immortality and one day would die
Ah, what a truly unfortunate tragedy
Yet they both laughed there anyway, yes they both smiled all the same
La la la what a wonderful, truly beautiful, curse for us
Even if tomorrow we fade
We can both smile cause we understand the value of “now”

Just like everyday my voice falls short and fails to say
All the things I try to speak it’s like I’m not here at all
Behind every glance is such a painful ignorance
They can not see the truth of this world
That’s been cursed to no longer fall

Laughing anyway we’re free from that world of eternal pain
Both the kids had smiled so bright it was like they had lost their minds
No matter what night brings the two never stop smiling
Because they both were finally free from the curse of fruited tree.
Stuck within a rotting world where only these two would laugh savoring all the time that’s left.
