Download my free value scale template. Create your own ten-step value scale with this free resource - studio.krisdebruine.com/ten-step-value-scale-templ… I have more free resources for the watercolor artist on my website at: studio.krisdebruine.com/free-resources In this video I demonstrate how to create a 10-step value scale in watercolor. I create this value scale using Daniel Smith Indigo pigment. I discuss the "value" of creating a value study for beginning watercolor artists. I suggest you give this exercise a try. You will learn a lot about your paints and about the importance of value in painting. #watercolor #value #valuescale Value #10 is the lightest value. It is essentially the color of the paper. Value #1 is the darkest value that can be achieved with that pigment. I create all 10 values using a single pigment - Indigo by Daniel Smith. The paint I'm using is Daniel Smith Indigo - amzn.to/2Wvk8NN This is a beautiful color that I use a lot in my paintings. I highly recommend adding this paint to your palette.
