After 4+ hours of fighting
After 4+ hours of fighting this boss, he is finally defeated. Felt so good to land that final hit!
This boss made Malenia feel like a piece of cake. I'm wondering if FromSoft made it so difficult to get back at all the people who were angry they nerfed the original Radahn fight to be extremely easy (and ruined the experience imo).
This boss fight is one of the most difficult boss fights of any Souls game. It reminds me of the Sekiro boss fight where I was saying to myself, "I don't know if I can ever beat this boss with my build".
Luckily, I was able to make some small tweaks to my character and keep my main build and take him out with only a sliver of life remaining!
The biggest additions to my build that helped were using the Lord's Divine Fortification spell and the Golden Braid Talisman to reduce holy damage during Radahn's second phase.
I also had to add the Scarlet Aeonia spell to deal scarlet rot damage to Radahn.
There was a cool mechanic where as long as I had the spells equipped, my mimic tear would cast the spells and target Radahn to inflict the scarlet rot (or protect me from holy damage when he was nearby).
I still have no idea how to really dodge all of the phase 2 attacks because FromSoft made his after-images so difficult to read. It really messes with your mind while playing.
All-in-all, I am very glad this boss is behind me. I have a feeling he will be getting nerfed in the future, so I'm happy I defeated him at his hardest.
Definitely don't want to be fighting him again anytime soon!
