In this quick video, I show you how to make a delicious blackened Tautog. This fish (also known as blackfish) makes for delicious table fare and adding the spicy, garlicy, and lemony flavors takes it to a whole new level. Check out the full catch and cook on my channel!

Blackened Tautog Recipe:
1. Season the fish with the following–
-Salt
-Pepper
-Onion powder
-Cayenne
-Oregano
-Smoked paprika
-Garlic powder
-Thyme

2. Evenly distribute the spices to cover the filet completely

3. Add butter to a hot pan and place the filets in the pan.

4. Cook for around 3 mins per side. You should see the seasoning start to char.

5. While the fish cooks, make the sauce. In a small pan or pot, add about 1 tablespoon of butter. Let the butter melt, then add in a tablespoon of minced garlic. Mix the garlic in until aromatic. Then, squeeze half of a lemon into the pan. Add cayenne, smoked paprika, and Old Bay. Mix together and let simmer to thicken on a low heat.

6. Remove filets from pan, drizzle the sauce on and enjoy!
