Part 2/2 I connect the fault code reader & check what fault codes are stored & go through the process of regenerating the DPF! It’s probably about 30 minutes to do this completely from start to finish & before doing this I ran the car for about 1.5 hours on the motorway in 4th gear averaging 2500rpm 60/70mph to get the dpf red hot
In Part 1/2 I cleaned & unblock the DPF? Hopefully save £300 if I can clean and regen or it’s gonna be an expensive month! How to remove and clean a DPF on the mk4 Mondeo. In part 1 with the car stuck in limp home mode I decided to remove the DPF filter and try to decoke it using some Wynns DPF CLEANER. I left the cleaner in for the maximum amount of time 8 hours & then flushed it out with boiling hot water. After doing this I allowed it to dry for a day before refitting, when refitting I used new 15mm nuts. I had already filled up using super clean diesel and I then drove for approximately 1.5 hrs on the motorway in 4th gear. On start up the car had white smoke out the back of the car but as soon as I hit 60 mph the smoke disappeared…
