French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne
French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne embarked on a visit to Israel amid escalating tensions fueled by Prime Minister Netanyahu's plans for a potential invasion of Rafah. Sejourne's arrival in Israel on April 30 at 11:00 a.m. marked the commencement of a series of high-level meetings, including discussions with Israel's Foreign Minister Katz, Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, war cabinet minister Benny Gantz, and National Security Adviser Tzachi Hanegbi in Jerusalem. Additionally, Sejourne is slated to journey to Tel Aviv for meetings with families of French hostages detained in Gaza and to inaugurate France's new consulate general. Notably, the French foreign minister's visit to Israel follows his recent trip to Lebanon, where he presented proposals aimed at averting potential conflict between Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah terror group.
