CHANGE AUDIO-TRACK TO ENGLISH! An island close to the North Pole with more the polar bears than humans. With the northermost town in the world. This is Svalbard. Unlike the coldest city in the world, also known as Yakutsk / Yakutia, which is -71°C, -96°F cold. This city in the arctic (not the antarctic) is home to the Polar Bear. This is a very remote place with few inhabitants. Not like the Arctic in Alaska (Barrow), Canada or Russia (Siberia). An island in Norway. It's a very popular tourist destination for travellers around the world but some, have never heard of it! Ruhi Cenet, Eva Zu Beck, Brave Wilderness, Yes Theory, Indigo Traveller, Drew Binsky are some people who have visited this Arctic Archeopalogy. Not to be confused with Franz Joseph Land which is a Russian Arctic Island with a Russian military base on it. Barentzburg and Pyramiden, are two Russians towns on Svalbard who have a mixed Ukrainian and Russian population. They are fully funded by the Russian Federation and reside on NATO land. Vladimir Putin has long invested in the Arctic and has shown interest in the Northern Sea Route as well as Oil in this geographical area. This is perhaps why, the Russians cities on NATO land, still exist - although they are not making any profit. There are communist structures and buildings here. That date back to Lenins area. In an upcoming episode, we plan on investigating these sitings, but for this video, we are discovering the wildlife. BBC Earth or National Geographics inspired journey to see the whales, the polar bears, the Arctic Fox, seals, narvals, belugas, the Svalbard Reindeer and more. My dream is to one day see the Snow Leopard, but species resides in India, China, Russia and Mongolia. Similar Climate, but different habitat for this wildlife creature.
