HAS THE KING LEFT THE
HAS THE KING LEFT THE BUILDING? – Last time I went fishing and squidding off the rocks at Fremantle, I somehow landed a King George Whiting (The Return of the KING - King George ...) . While I was stoked at my catch, I always thought it was one of those days where you fluke a fish.
With the kayak still awaiting parts, I decided it was a good time to put that question to bed. I enlisted the help of my mate Benn (the juggler: My mate completes the 2023 HBF run......), and we set out for a squid and fish session to prove once and for all whether the KGs could be caught that close to Fremantle shores.
And what a session it was! With a size KG on my first cast, it was a veritable frenzy of hookups and good fish. With KGs, Sand Whiting, Squid and Tarwhine caught amongst the ever-present hordes of blowfish and butterfish, it truly was a session for the ages!
