Today we continue working with the Chanel style jacket.
Today we are going to show you how to insert the sleeves in the armholes.
In this case the sleeve head shouldn’t be gathered when being inserted.
The sleeve head and the armhole should be even.
We need to make a couple of bar tacks in the sleeves. Natalie will show you how to do it.
I remind you that the facing in the sleeves is 10cm wide.
When we make the bar tacks, we’ll start inserting the sleeves.
I want you to understand that it doesn’t take long to insert such sleeves due to the fact that the sleeve head shouldn’t be gathered.
You can stitch these details instead of making the bar tacks. The seams won’t be seen in such fabric.
The bar tacks are going to prevent the facing from falling out of the sleeve.
I remind you that you shouldn’t press the details with the polyester batting in them too hard. Iron them gently.
Due to the fact that the pattern was accurate, the details match perfectly.
Make sure that you stitch the details accurately. This is very important.
We are going to show you how to cut and tack the sleeves, how to prepare them for stitching, iron and actually stitch them.
If you do everything the way we show you, you won’t have any problems.
