As the once small group Rick accumulated finally reaches Alexandria, you feel a sense of relief when the group is given two houses to split up into.
You’ve been out in the open for quite some time, always looking over your shoulder and starving.
This finally feels like a reprieve for you, but you wonder if it will last.
As Rick claims the first house for himself and his family, he tells you bluntly that there is only one room left up for grabs and you’re going to have to share it.
Before you can protest Daryl speaks up, taking control and says, “We share”.
You nod once and Rick smothers a small grin. “Alright then, I’ll have Deanna send over some extra blankets or something”
You and Daryl walk up to the last remaining room and drop your bags off in there. Then heading back downstairs, the two of you sit on the porch and watch the people of Alexandria while Daryl cleans his crossbow.
Deanna eventually finds the two of you and jokes about you two finally showering now that you have actual bathrooms, and she explains she left clothes for each of you on your bed.
Later that night everyone hesitantly splits up into separate houses.
You push Daryl into the shower and throw fresh clothes at him, and then wait patiently for your turn.
As you’re waiting Rick drops off a sleeping bag, and a couple extra pillows and blankets.
After your own blessedly hot shower and changing into your own set of fresh clothing, you walk into your bedroom to find Daryl laid out on the bed on top of the sleeping bag and extra blankets.
You turn away shyly and say “Pass me one of the blankets, I’ll take the floor for the night, we can switch tomorrow”
With one arm tucked behind his head, Daryl shakes his head. “Nah. I ain’t lettin’ you sleep on the floor.”
You can feel yourself beginning to blush and you turn away from him, “Seriously it’s no big deal”
“Oh no you don’t,” he huffs. “Get in the bed.”
You hesitantly climb into the bed, and he turns over to face you and tucks a pillow tightly under his head.
Rolling over you cuddle in closer to Daryl. “Don’t pout, babe. It’s not like we haven’t shared a makeshift bed before.”
“That was different. It was life or death out there. In here it’s just- it’s-”
“It’s intimate,” he says in a low voice.
You try to shrug him off but he doesn’t relent “But in all seriousness, now that we can truly exhale, I want this...this little bit of peace, and I want you to have it too” You feel safer than you have in months, this close to him and he smirks at you, “I apologize in advance if you wake up with me wrapped around you.”

Daryl is an expert at hunting, tracking, navigation, and observation. He is also a skilled combatant, knife-wielder and crossbowman. Rick Grimes values him as his right-hand man, close friend, and later on as a brother figure.
Daryl is at first a brazen, surly, impulsive redneck but develops himself as an integral part of the group due to his survival skills. His aggression is unprecedented, and it remains one of his most valuable assets, as well as one of his most noticeable.
