Make Your Garage Gate Smart With a Shelly 1

In this video I connect a Shelly 1 to the VDS motor of my garage rolling gate. I will show you how to integrate it into the Shelly app and what to change in the settings to make it work.
Then I will show you how to integrate it into Home Assistant, followed by a couple of Automation examples: 1.Turn on the front lights when I come home after dark and open the garage gate. 2. Monitor the gate and if I forget it open for more than 5 minutes after midnight, close it and notify me.
There are countless possibilities and each of us has different requirements, but I showed you these examples to inspire you.
The shelly 1 relay is totally separated from the feeding power, so it can be used as a dry contact or with voltage. This is unlike any of the other Shelly devices, which makes it suitable for garage doors and gates.
