Democrats have accused Republicans of trying to block minorities from voting as GOP held states push through a raft of sweeping reforms in the wake of the November 2020 election.

Democratic officials argue the Republicans are attempting to disenfranchise Democrats and argue the changes place a greater burden on voters of colour.
US politician Stacey Abrams labelled the new voter legislation reforms as “racist” and introduced by Republicans in a bid to undermine the African American vote.
There are currently over 250 bills in 43 states which are seeking to impose more checks and balances on the voting process.
