In this Video I show how to make a historic pink imprimatura for landscape painting. Many landscape paintings dating from the 15th to the 19th century show a pink colored imprimatura or ground. This pinkish imprimatura helps achieve atmospheric ambience and luminosity. Many artists toned their ground pink to paint skies, clouds, distant mountains, water and vegetation.
