Background. Marik is using an item called the Millenium Rod to turn people into mind slaves. Joey has just been enslaved and this is addition to the story in the episode where we get to see Tea/Anzu fall victim to the rod. She is shown in the show under its control later in the series but unlike with Joey we don't get to see her falling under its control in the show. This is a 1 minute add in to the episode to cover off what happened off camera.
