The Litter-Robot comes with a flexible carbon filter pad that helps minimize odors in the waste drawer. Although the filter isn’t necessary for the Litter-Robot to function, it helps reduce odors.

How often do you need to change the carbon filter?
- The time between changes will depend on your preferences and on your cats’ usage. For maximum efficiency, change the carbon filter every three months. Scented litter will require more frequent filter changes, because the filter absorbs the scent. You can order replacement filters quickly and easily online.

How to change the carbon filter in Litter-Robot 3
- First, turn off the unit.
- Pull the waste drawer out. The carbon filter is in the front wall of the drawer.
- Push the top edge of the filter down to free it from the hooks that hold it in place.
- Pull the filter out of the bottom slot and discard.
- Slide the new Litter-Robot filter into the bottom slot. Bend the top edge of the filter so you can slide it under each hook. Make sure it is securely in place and that it completely covers the front vents.
- If the new filter sheds during installation, wipe any debris with a towel.
- Place the drawer back in the base and turn the power back on. You are all set.
The carbon filter or waste drawer may appear different from what is pictured depending on when the unit was manufactured.
