The Government of India has launched a new scheme named the E-SHRAM Portal Scheme for the welfare of Unorganized Sector Workers and Laborers. e-SHRAM Portal has launched by Pradhan Mantri Narendra Modi. The Labor and Employment Ministry of India has started E-SHRAM Portal to track and collect all information and data about labourers and workers of the unorganized sector. Collected data will be used to launch new schemes, make new policies, create more job opportunities for Unorganized Sector Workers and Laborers. Ministry of Labour & Employment will provide the Unique Identification Number (UAN) Card for Who applies for the eShram Portal. Candidates make self-registration on e-SHRAM Portal using a mobile number linked with Aadhar Card.
e-Shram Card Benefits:
1. After registering on the e-SHRAM portal, unorganized workers will need not to register separately for Govt’s Social Security Schemes. e-SHRAM card containing a 12-digit UAN will be valid throughout the country,” Union Minister of State Rameswar Teli said.
2. Government of India launches National Database – e-SHRAM Portal – for Unorganized Workers for the overall welfare of crores of unorganized workers of the country.
3. Construction workers, migrant workers, street vendors, domestic workers, milkmen, truck drivers, fishermen, agriculture workers, and similar other workers to be covered.
4. All registered Unorganized Workers will be provided the accidental Insurance Coverage through Pradhan MantrI Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) for a year.
5. Rs 2 lakh for accidental death and permanent disability and Rs 1 lakh for partial disability.
6. Social security benefits will be delivered through e-SHRAM portal.
7. It will also be helpful for State and Central Governments to provide assistance to eligible UWs in case of any pandemic or calamities.
E Shram Card Eligibility Criteria:
8. Information that is required for e-SHRAM portal registration is – Aadhaar Number, Aadhaar linked active mobile number, Bank account details.
9. Age should be between 16-59 years (28-08-1961 to 27-08-2005).
Workers registered under NDUW can take PM Suraksha BHIM Scheme.
Premium Rs. 12 will be waived for 1 year.
• E-Shram Card can get scholarship
• Ration can be obtained through e-Shram Card.
• Pension can be received from e-Shramik Card.
• One can get a house under PM Awas Yojana through e-Shramik Card.
• Loan can be availed without interest through e-Shramik Card.
• Financial assistance will be given through e-Shramik Card.
