Baltimore Orioles right-handed pitching prospect Juan Echevarria throws for the GCL Orioles during a July 26, 2017 Gulf Coast League (rookie level) game against the GCL Twins (Minnesota Twins) in Fort Myers, Florida. Juan Echevarria throws a fastball, a slider, and a changeup — the fastball shows heavy arm-side action with some boring run to it, and the slider is a promising offspeed pitch, though more often than not right now, Echevarria gets around it and turns it into a spinner that lacks true depth. Across 16 relief appearances in 2017, Juan Echevarria was 2-1 with a 7.77 ERA over 24.1 IP, and he allowed 27 hits and 12 walks, while picking up 18 strikeouts.
