Humans migration, for the want of a better life or due to lack of basic necessities is a common phenomenon we see all around the globe. It’s a system that has been ingrained into the social aspect of human lives so much that we almost overlook how it affects almost all of us. Why do people leave behind their hometowns and villages anyway? We try to explore this in this film.

According to 2011 census, more than 40% of the population had migrated from the villages of Uttarakhand. Yes, not 5%, not 10%, not 15%… a staggering 40%. Between 2011 and 2018, 734 villages in the state have become uninhabited, taking the total to 1768.
