Just a few months after the youthful Michael Brown got his driver’s license, the very first 1963 Chevrolet Split Window Coupe rolled out of the St. Louis, Missouri, Corvette factory, and according to Brown, he was instantly smitten. “Of course, I never really thought I’d own one,” he added. Fast forward nearly a half century in time, and today, Brown owns far more than a singular ’63 split window—he owns an expansive collection of more than a dozen coveted Corvette classics and more.

Brown began assembling the Hooked on Vettes Collection in 1985, a full 22 years after being emotionally reeled in by the stunning, new-for-1963 Corvette Sting Ray, and over time, he's turned it into a truly top-shelf assemblage centered on America's Sports Car. While building the garage that would hold his fine collection of cars, Brown simultaneously began to establish a complementary collection of neon signs and other Road Art pieces meant to enhance the presentation of his space, and this March in Glendale, Arizona, eager enthusiasts around the world will have an opportunity to lay claim to some of Brown's most stellar finds as both his Corvettes and his extensive Road Art collection cross the Mecum auction block at entirely no reserve.
