Optimal Ratio - 75% KNO3 : 15% C : 10% S (by weight)
This isn't really a "chemistry" video, more of those to come, but I still wanted to do something on my semester break. This gunpowder will be used for firecrackers which I'm making for new years. Expect another video about how I make my homemade fuses (without the use of chlorates/perchlorates), and how I actually pack together my firecrackers. I'm not to the confidence to use legitimate energetic compounds in firecrackers, and gunpowder is the safest alternative which still gives a bang.
In the future I'll be doing a video about the road to chlorates. The first few videos will be about making a titanium substrate MMO anode, so stay tuned.
