Using a 35mm slide projector
Using a 35mm slide projector and a DSLR camera with a macro lens, you can transfer all your slides to digital format. Skip ahead to about the 4:10 mark to see it in action if you aren't interested in how it's made.
I've modified a Kodak 4200 Carousel project, and automated it with a Raspberry Pi. I'm using DigiCamControl software to fire the camera and record the images. I wrote a simple python script to advance the slide, then take the picture, and repeat until the tray is finished.
The resolution of the finished product is surprisingly great!
