Tennessee Basketball Highlights 2005/2006 "Turn up the Heat"

Wisconsin-Milwaukee head coach Bruce Pearl was introduced as Tennessee’s 17th head coach on March 28, 2005. Pearl guided the Volunteers to the 2006 SEC Eastern Division Championship with a 12-4 league record and a 22-8 overall mark. The Vols’ No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament was the best in program history. Pearl earned SEC Coach of the Year acclaim and was tabbed as National Coach of the Year by The Sporting News and CBSSportsline.com. Sophomore shooting guard Chris Lofton broke school records that season for 3-pointers made (114), 3-pointers attempted (261) and 3-pointers made per game (3.80). Lofton was a consensus All-SEC first-teamer and Sporting News second-team All-American.
